"Growing up, cooking has always been an integral part of my life"
I was your typical latchkey kid in the 80s, and my mom worked long hours. So out of necessity, I started tinkering in the kitchen and discovered I really enjoyed it. As I got older and eventually lived on my own, I loved entertaining and feeding people, and folks seemed to like my cooking. Soon, I was making meals and bringing them to friends and family anytime there was a birth, death, illness, injury, a move to a new home, or any occasion that might consume someone’s time and attention.
"My favorite meals to give? Soup. Always soup."
Everyone loved them. And I soon discovered that I found a lot of joy in a pot of soup on the stove. Friends and relatives started telling me, “You need to open a soup place!” Opening and running a restaurant, even a small soup shop, is a tremendous amount of work and requires a big investment, and it wasn’t what I wanted to do. I wanted people to enjoy my soups in their homes. I wanted to stock their freezers, as I had done so many times for friends and family.
So I started Savory Spoon Foods as a way to put a warm, comforting meal on the table with no effort. These are recipes that I have been making for my loved ones for years, and now I want to share them with you. My soups are all natural, clean label, with no preservatives, flavor enhancers, or artificial junk that you can’t pronounce. I cook in small batches, so you know that what you’re eating has been made with the same TLC that makes a home-cooked meal so special. I hope you can taste and feel the love that goes into each container of my soups.
